June 2025 - Demo Version

We plan to release a demo on 9 June on Steam Fest, giving players an opportunity to feel the game. This will be a chance to try:

gameplay with VR mechanics;
unique chess boards and pieces, inspired by the Ultima Realm;
VR transformations of the classic chess experience, making it one of the best chess VR games available.

Feedback will be crucial during this phase, helping us fine-tune gameplay, improve interactions, and ensure the best possible launch version.

Kickstarter Campaign Launch

Our Kickstarter campaign, launching after Steam Fest in June, is more than just a funding opportunity—it’s a way for our community to be directly involved in the development of the game.

It will allow us to expand development, ensuring that Ultima Chess VR reaches its full potential.

September 2025 - Full Release

The full version of Ultima Chess VR is set to launch in September 2025, delivering a fully-featured chess experience with extensive fantasy and sci-fi characters and environment sets.

Here’s what awaits you at launch:

12 unique chessboard designs and skins – Each inspired by the rich lore of Ultima Realm;
Multiplayer Mode – Compete against players worldwide in ranked or casual matches.
Story Campaign – Discover the lore of Ultima while playing a chess match;
AI Opponent Mode – Test your skills against challenging AI that is built on Stockfish;
Five Additional Game Modes – Including Fog of War, 3 Check Chess, King of the Hill, 960, Bughouse;

We will share more details about these game modes and additional features as we get closer to the demo release.
